Setsuko Nakamura studies classical music and opera since she met Nelly Miricioiu at Mediterranean Opera Studio 2015 and continues to participate in Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival 2016 and 2017 in which she sang Berta in ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’, and at MOSF2018 sang Suzuki in “Madama Butterfly” and Marcellina in “Le Nozze di Figaro” and at MOSF2019 Donna Elvira in “Don Giovanni” and Angelica in “Suor Angelica” in 2022, and will be singing Violetta in “La Traviata” this summer.

She is a Yaima folk classics singer/instrument player since 2004, performs at religious/indigenous ceremonies and festivals, and now studies under Kishaba Hidekatsu, an accredited traditional performer of intangible properties of Japan.
