Sarah McGinn is a coloratura soprano from Sherman, Texas. She is currently a junior at Williams College, where she is double majoring in psychology and English and studying vocal performance with Erin Casey. Under the direction of Paul La Rosa and Erin Casey, Sarah has performed the roles of Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte and Musetta in La Bohème with the Williams Opera Workshop. She is a member of the Williams College Choir, where she serves as soprano section leader, and Concert Choir under the direction of Anna Lenti. Prior to Williams, Sarah studied voice with Sylvia Rivers of Austin College and competed widely in Texas state vocal competitions, including receiving a score of 1 (Superior) and designation as an Outstanding Performer for the solo “Das Veilchen” at the Texas State Vocal Solo and Ensemble Competition in 2019. Sarah also has an extensive background as a performer in musical theater, but she has discovered at Williams that operatic performance is her true passion. She is thrilled to be coming to MOSF this summer, where she will be performing as Clorinda in La Cenerentola and covering the role of Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor.
