We hope you will walk away from this experience truly loving opera and understanding the depth, impact, and spirit of this music.
The Festival is 6 weeks long (June 24 – August 6) and tuition ($1000) includes transportation to and from Catania Airport to our center of studies in Caltagirone Sicily, weekly company tourism, weekly laundry service, single room with personal bathroom cleaned daily, breakfast and lunch daily, and if you desire also daily Italian lessons with our professionals. This 6 week period with all these benefits is our thanks for your many years of hard work in preparing yourself for this task. Thank you!
We will be preparing 3 operas: Madama Butterfly by Puccini, L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti, and Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart. Scheduling is intense, particularly for the first 2 weeks. We work Monday through Friday (also Saturday depending on how fast the orchestra moves in preparation of our operas), for the first 2 weeks and then the schedule tapers off and becomes easier as you will be free during the day and will perform in the evenings as scheduled. This will also allow you to enrich your experience by giving you time in beautiful Sicily to form connections and friendships, many of which we have experienced become important and lasting.
