15138319_10210748747970911_1801338234802290665_oMaria Warenberg (1995) was born in the Netherlands in a family of musicians. She had her first piano lessons at the age of seven and also enjoyed singing from a young age. It was only at the age of 16 that she had her first singing lessons from Marjan Kuiper. Six months later she entered the Princess Christina competition and won the encouragement award. In the same year Maria was admitted to the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conser- vatoire in The Hague where she studied with Rita Dams.

Together with pianist Gabriele Zemaityte Maria enjoys singing lied repertoire. They perfor- med as a duo many times in different venues such as The Concertgebouw, De Doelen and several other theaters in the Netherlands. Besides lied repertoire, Maria also loves opera repertoire. She has performed as a soloist with the Sinfonia Rotterdam Orchestra ”Non so piu cosa son, cosa faccio” from Mozart’s le Nozze di Figaro and ”Una voce poco fa” from Rossini’s Il barbier di Siviglia.

Maria had masterclasses from: Nelly Miricioiu, Marlena Malas, Margreet Honig, Margo Garrett, Brian Zeger and Ira Siff.
Since September 2015 Maria studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Sasja Hunnego.

Maria is very much looking forward to make her role debut as Cherubino during the 2018 Mediterranean Opera Festival.
