
Iona Kruger is a soprano from New York, New York and is a sophomore at Williams College, majoring in music. Winner of the The Timothy G. Taylor Trust Music Scholarship from her highschool, Phillips Exeter Academy, Iona is grateful for the opportunity to continue her vocal studies at Williams College with Erin Casey. Her current music professors include Zach Wadsworth, Dr. Anna Lenti, Brad Wells and past vocal instructor, Jean Strazdes. She spent past summers at vocal intensive programs including Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Boston Conservatory, and Carnegie Mellon. Last summer she performed at the Narni Vocal Arts Festival in Narni, Italy. Under the direction of Erin Casey and Paul La Rosa, Iona performed in the ensemble of La bohème and as the second lady in Die Zauberflöte and numerous roles in musical theater productions. Iona plans to continue her vocal studies at the graduate level. This summer she is looking forward to participating in the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival in Sicily, Italy where she will be performing the roles of Flora and Annina in La Traviata and Clorinda in Cenerentola.
