American violist Deanna (Brooke) Mead is a recent graduate of the Boyer College of Music and Dance in Philadelphia, where she studied under Che-Hung Chen and Kerri Ryan, both violists of the Philadelphia Orchestra. A native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Brooke made her operatic orchestra debut with the Lancaster Opera Company in 2014.
In Philadelphia, Brooke enjoys a busy schedule of chamber and orchestral playing; she specializes in orchestral playing, performing primarily with the Temple University Symphony Orchestra. Brooke currently serves as principal violist of the Temple University Opera Orchestra as well as the Temple Composer’s Orchestra, in addition to performing throughout the Philadelphia area with her string quartet. She currently works as a freelance violist and private lesson instructor.
