Currently, Italy has restrictive Covid guidelines compared to other Countries. Anyone infected with Covid-19 is required to quarantine for a period of 7 days from the time of official testing. At the end of the quarantine period you must test again. If negative you are issued a green pass and are free to exit quarantine and participate in any activity freely. Should you continue to test positive, you must quarantine for another 5 days and test again, and so forth.

All MOSF participants and staff must be vaccinated and either had covid within the last 4 months or been boosted within that period. You must be prepared to purchase at-home Covid-19 antigen tests at any point should we experience a breakout. This could mean testing daily for a week or more. You should be prepared to wear an N95 type mask inside our facility should someone test positive. If you test and are negative, you can sing without a mask if we are in the midst of a breakout event.

MOSF is not responsible for any medical costs or situations of participants or staff. Should you become ill, MOSF will try to arrange “catch-up” activities for you (at its discretion), but likelihood is that given the fast pace and congested teaching activity, there will be no time to do so. Wifi is available at the facility, but is not always a strong enough signal to conduct adequate online lessons.

Should you be infected, you will have to quarantine in your room for 7 days. The Convitto personnel will bring your breakfast and lunch to your room.

Should you choose to stay at the NH Villa San Mauro Hotel rather than at the Convitto and you become Covid-positive, you will be required to quarantine in your room for 7 days. Unfortunately, you will not be able to come to the Convitto for any activity, including breakfast and lunch. Please be aware that your food will have been purchased by MOSF at that point. We will NOT be able to provide you with a substitution meal. Your participation fee will have been used by then for the pre-paid meals MOSF will have provided at the Convitto cafeteria (which are non-refundable to MOSF or to you). So if you cannot come to the Convitto because you are in quarantine – those purchased meals are beyond your reach as they cannot under any circumstance (by law) be transported out of the Convitto (this State-run dorm is not authorized to provide food outside the facility). You must order and have your meals delivered at your expense (the portion of your participation fee dedicated to food will have been paid to the catering service by MOSF already – and though you are unable to reach your food because of your quarantine it remains a non-refundable expense that MOSF is not responsible for).

We do not know if these restrictive Covid measures will persist into 2023. As of September 2022, these are the State guidelines.

SHOULD ANY PARTICIPANT, ORCHESTRA MEMBER, OR STAFF MEMBER VIOLATE THEIR STATE-MANDATED QUARANTINE, AND HENCE BREAK THE LAW, THEY WILL, RESPECTIVELY, BE IMMEDIATELY EXPELLED FROM THE STUDIO OR HAVE THEIR CONTRACT TERMINATED.
