Nicola Martinucci, from Taranto, Italy, is a celebrated Italian spinto of the highest calibre.  His voice often draws parallels with the great Mario Del Monaco because of its inherent qualities and dramatic accent.  His voice instructor was Mario Del Monaco’s brother – Marcello Del Monaco.

He has sung under the baton of some of the greatest conductors, and on all the world’s great opera stages.

Maestro Martinucci has thrilled audiences worldwide in the cherished spinto repertoire, much of which can be found on youtube, especially Verdi (e.g. Radames in Aida), Puccini (e.g. Calaf in Turandot, Luigi in Il Tabarro), and other verismo roles like Canio in Pagliacci, or Andrea Chenier.

Maestro Martinucci is now a sought after voice instructor, already having propelled various students on to the international scene.  It is an honor to have Maestro Martinucci teaching at Mediterranean Opera Studio.

Here is Maestro Martinucci in one of his many acclaimed roles – Radames from Arena di Verona:
