
Sophia Longo is a soprano from Columbus, Ohio cultivating her reputation as a dynamic, genuine, and passionate vocal artist. Sophia graduated with honors in May of 2023 from The Ohio State University’s School of Music earning her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. During her voice study with Dr. Laura Portune, she took on roles such as Cendrillon (Cendrillon), Little Red (Into the Woods), Second Woman (Dido and Aeneas), Lilli Vanessi/Katherine (Kiss Me Kate), and Ariel (The Little Mermaid). Sophia has received awards including the Ohio State Scholarship in Music, the Margaret Speaks Vocal Award, and the Franklin County Musicians and Scholars Award.
Sophia performed with Opera Columbus as A Page in Rigoletto and in the Chorus of Tosca. She has also appeared in countless scenes productions as characters including Butterfly (Madama Butterfly), Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Anna Leonowens (The King and I), and Patience (Patience). In summer of 2022, Sophia participated in the OperArezzo Program with Oklahoma City University at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy.
She will be performing this summer in Caltagirone, Italy with Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival as Clorinda in La Cenerentola and covering the role of Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor.”
